Why we pour coconut soy
Coconut soy wax is a plant wax. It is soft and creamy, and it holds fragrance well. The scent builds slowly and fills the room, instead of hitting you at the door. Into each jar goes the wax, a cotton or wood wick, and phthalate-free fragrance oil. No paraffin.
A candle gift set, ready to give
The Floral Trio holds three 3.5 oz soy tins: Lavender Paradise, Hawaiian Hibiscus, and Sunny Hope. They sit on floral tissue paper in a white window box with an “Open Me” sticker on the front. Give it exactly as it arrives.
I pour every candle by hand
I am Jinita, and I make every Gist of Light candle myself. I pour in small batches, so I can check the scent, the wick, and the jar before each candle goes in a box.
Questions we are asked most
What wax do you use?
Gist of Light candles use coconut soy wax in the glass jars and pure soy in the 3.5 oz tins. Both are plant waxes. We do not use paraffin.
Are your candles safe to burn indoors?
Each candle uses plant wax, a cotton or wood wick, and phthalate-free fragrance oil. Trim the wick to 6 mm before every burn, burn the candle for no more than four hours at a time, and stop when 1 cm of wax remains.
How long does a candle burn?
A 5 oz candle burns for 25 to 30 hours. Burn time depends on how long you burn it each time and on the draught in the room.

We ship across Canada and the United States from Kelowna, British Columbia. Customers in Kelowna can choose free local pickup at checkout.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us within 3 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the damage. We will replace it or refund it. We reply within one to two business days.
What does shipping cost?
